Bachelor Business Administration and Economics

Getting a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Economics is the right choice if you are interested in economic and socio-political issues. This includes understanding operational interrelationships at the level of individual companies, but also the interplay of complex processes in modern economies. You should also enjoy analytical thinking, working independently and have a good knowledge of mathematics and English.

During the course of your studies, you will initially acquire fundamental knowledge in both business administration and economics, thereby enabling you to gain a deeper understanding of your personal strengths and interests. In the later part of your studies, you will specialize by choosing a competence profile. With the Bachelor's degree, we offer you a course that prepares you for a direct entry into professional life or a further master's degree.

You can get a first impression of studying and everyday university life from the university's TU guides. Till, for example, explains why he chose business administration and economics. Hande, a teacher education student specializing in mathematics as well as business administration and economics, also talks about her experiences.

The structure of the degree program

The Bachelor's degree course is designed for six semesters. During these six semesters, you will earn a total of 180 credit points. The course can be divided into two phases. In the first three and a half semesters, you will learn the basics of business administration and economics as part of the foundation course.

In the field of business administration, this includes courses on marketing, management, production management, accounting and finance. The introduction to important economic theory concepts and courses on microeconomics and macroeconomics cover the economics part of the course. These basics are supplemented by related subjects such as business informatics, the basics of econometrics, mathematics and statistics.

After getting to know different areas of economics in the first semesters, you can specialize in the second part based on your interests and career goals by choosing either a competence profile or a study field.
